Crusaders Soccer Club is excited to announce our new College Prep Program, designed to help young athletes navigate the journey to becoming a collegiate soccer player. This program provides players and their families with guidance, resources and opportunities they need to navigate the competitive college athletic recruitment process.
The College Prep Program is led by Coach Kate Maietta, a former collegiate soccer player and coach. Through Kate’s leadership and experience, youth soccer players will receive the guidance they need to successfully work toward their collegiate goals.
How We Support Players
Education: We provide players and families with the knowledge they need through presentations and dedicated office hours, offering guidance on the recruitment process, eligibility and more.
Experience: Players gain firsthand insight into college athletics by traveling to showcases, attending college games and touring local college athletic departments.
Exposure: We create opportunities for players to be seen through college showcase matches, on-field training sessions with college coaches and workshops on film production and highlight videos.
Meet Coach Kate Maietta, Program Director
Kate Maietta brings a wealth of experience to the program. As a former collegiate soccer player and coach, she has the expertise and passion to guide players towards their collegiate goals.
Born and raised on the East Coast, Maietta played club soccer with SoccerPlus under former USWNT coach Tony DiCicco. She was a four-year varsity player and senior captain at Mercy High School. She attended Lesley University in Cambridge, MA as a student athlete. At Lesley University, Maietta scored 23 goals, had 16 assists and played 80 games. She also earned Conference Rookie of the Year and helped lead the team to its first NCAA postseason appearance.
After graduating, Maietta earned her Master of Social Work from Boston College and continued coaching as an assistant at Emerson College for four years, as well as with Massachusetts ODP and New England Rush FC. She has been coaching with Crusaders Soccer Club since 2021. In addition to her coaching, Maietta is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and holds a U.S. Soccer Federation coaching license.
