On June 1st and 2nd, the Crusaders Soccer Club hosted their annual 3V3 Festival on the turf fields at Pershing Middle School. A total of 134 highly motivated competitive and recreational level teams participated in the event from youth soccer clubs from throughout San Diego.
Every team was allowed up to five players and each team played a minimum of three games consisting of two 12-minute halves. The boys’ section played on Saturday and the girls section played on Sunday. There were 13 divisions each day vying for a medal and the teams were paired up depending on age and skill level. Medals were awarded in each division for the “Champions Team” and “Finalist Team”.
Many of the Crusaders Soccer competitive and recreational teams won champion and finalist medals including “Silly Sigmas” one of the Crusaders 2010 Girls Competitive teams coached by Clay Adams. See photo.
We want to thank Gatorade for donating and staffing their huge inflatable orange goal- kicking challenge. Players kicked a soccer ball and, depending upon the corner of the goal they scored in, won a prize. In addition, Gatorade handed out several hundred Gatorade drinks to thirsty soccer players. A special thank you to VIVEcf for donating all the soccer balls used during the 3v3 Festival and to Jon Greene, the Community Relations Manager for the San Diego Sockers for staffing their booth and promoting their new home at the Frontwave Arena in Oceanside beginning with their 2024 fall season.
The 3v3 Festival was a great and fun event. The 3v3 Festival received many comments from Crusaders players and families as well as teams from other clubs thanking Crusaders for having the event. It was a lot of fun. We will certainly be back next year and will tell other teams in our club they need to participate next year!
