Nicholas White played 2009 with the Johns Hopkins University Blue Jays and they finished their season with an eighth Centennial Conference Championship.
Jillian Gilbeau played 7 years for the San Diego Crusaders 1987’s. In 2004 She was a member of both the Cal South ODP and the Region IV ODP teams. At the University of Texas she started 85 games over her four years of playing winning two Big 12 Championships. The UT squad made four consecutive trips to the NCAA tournament. She was then selected 22nd overall in the Women’s Professional Soccer League Draft. Now a member of the Washington Freedom.
Tiffany Apple played the 2008 season for Mesa College. She played in 1935 minutes and
had a goals against average of .0647 while leading the team to the California State Championship game. The best finish in School history.
Evan Hobson plays for the University of Redlands. Redlands was Ranked as high as #8 in the Nation this season. Hobson played in 21 games starting 20 and had a .92 goals against average.
Aubree Caruana plays for Concordia University in Irvine. She played in 18 games as a
Freshman in 2007 and 18 games as a Sophomore in 2008.
Josh May competed for Point Loma Nazarene University in 2008. He played in 13 games
and scored 2 goals. One was a game winner against Holy Names University in overtime.
Kaycee Gunion plays goalkeeper for Cal State San Marcos. She was an honorable mention All-American for the 2008 season.
Kara Koehrn was just named Player of The Year for the Southern Conference. She tied Davidson College school record in career goals and goals in a season. She was Player of the Week for the Southern Conference two consecutive weeks this season. She had back to back games with a hat trick in each followed by back to back games with 2 goals in each. She was the team’s MVP her sophomore and junior year. Kara made Soccer Buzz’s Elite Feet National team of the Week and Student Athlete of the Week for SoCon for all sports. She is on the second All-District All- Academic team and made the All-State Team last year. She was ranked 8th in the nation in NCAA Division I Colleges in goals for this season.
Katie McCoy, the Hornets’ leading scorer, was named to the Academic All-District VIII third team. A sophomore forward from La Mesa, Calif., McCoy is a business major with a 3.7 gpa and led Sacramento State with seven goals and five assists this year. McCoywas also selected to the first team All-Big Sky Conference.
She helped the team advance to the Big Sky postseason tournament for the first time since 2001 and post its best overall record (8-8-3) since 2000.
The women’s District VIII section was comprised of a first, second and third team.
Katie McCoy played for the Spirit ’86 team coached by Howie Hawver.
Becky Martin was selected as the 2nd team Goalkeeper for the Lone Star Conference. Martin is in her sophomore year at Angelo State university in Texas and has help lead the “Rambelles” to the conference tournament the last two years.
Kim Sacher finished a fine freshman year at Dayton. Sacher played in 18 of 20 games for the Flyers and started in 9.
