2024 3v3 FESTIVAL RULES

1. ROSTERS

Team must submit a roster with a maximum of five players, including their names, dates of birth, and official player cards.

2. FIELD

The playing field will be 30X20 yards or as space allows.

3. GOALS

Small goals will be used.

4. GOALKEEPER

There will be no Goalkeepers.

5. GOALBOX

The goal box will be 2X4 yards before the goal.

6. SCORING

The ball must be over the goal line COMPLETELY for it to be a goal.

7. DEAD BALLS

Any ball that rests in the goal box will be a dead ball.

8. OUT OF BOUNDS

The ball must completely cross the boundaries to be out of play.

9. KICK-INS

Any out-of-bounds ball will be Kicked-in (no throw-ins). No goals can be scored off of a kick-in.

10. UNFORMS

All players must wear the same color uniform.

11. SHIN GUARDS

Shin guards are MANDATORY. No player shall participate without shin guards

12. FREE KICKS

All free kicks will be considered Indirect and taken from the spot of the foul. The defending players must be back 3 yards.

13. GOAL KICKS

Goal Kicks can be taken anywhere on the goal line.

14. GAME DURATION

Games will consist of two 12-minute halves. In bracket play, tied games will be recorded as a tie. In quarterfinals, semi-finals, or finals, in the event of a tie at the end of regulation time, the game will be decided by a 3-minute sudden win period. If a tie persists, the game will progress to penalty kicks on a rotation basis; All three players that finished the game will take a kick. If the tie continues, the fourth player will take the next kick. If it still is a tie, the teams will alternate kickers until a sudden win is obtained.

15. PENALTY KICKS

A.) PKs will be taken from the halfway line.

B) All players must be behind the halfway line when the kick is taken. 

C) Once the kick is taken, the ball will be dead.

16. OFFSIDES

There will be no offsides.

17. BALL SIZE

All teams will use appropriate ball sizes.

18. SLIDING

At no point is sliding allowed. Sliding will be considered a foul.

19. GOAL BOX INFRINGEMENT

No player, even unintentionally, may contact the ball. A penalty kick will be awarded if a defensive player touches the ball. If an attacking player makes contact in the box, a goal kick will be awarded to the defending team.

20. SCORING

A goal must be scored on the attacking side of the field.

21. SUBSTITUTION

Free substitution is allowed with the referee’s permission at any time during the game.

22. RED CARDS

A player receiving a red card will automatically sit out the following game

23. DELAY OF GAME

The referee is the official timekeeper in the game. The referee also has the discretion to caution any player deemed intentionally wasting time, such as kicking long balls to affect the game’s continuity.

24. THREE GAMES

All teams are guaranteed three games in the tournament.

25. DISPUTES

The tournament director’s decision will be final in any dispute

26. SPORTSMANSHIP

All players, coaches, and spectators are responsible for exhibiting good sportsmanship. Abuse of the referees will not be tolerated, and the infringing team or individual will be disqualified from the tournament.

SCORING SYSTEM

PLACEMENT: Teams will be placed according to the total number of points accumulated during bracket play.

POINT SYSTEM: Win: 3 Points. Tie: 1 Point. Loss: 0 Points.

FORFEITS: They will be taken as a win, and the team will be awarded 3 points, scoring 1- 0.

TIE BREAKER: In bracket play, the tiebreakers will be the following:

  1. Head-to-head.
  2. Goals against
  3. Goals for
  4. Penalty kicks.

 

ALTERING ROSTERS:  Any team official (coach or team manager) altering the original roster in any form, the team will be considered ineligible to continue in the tournament, and the entry fees will be forfeited.
